Today I am welcoming an incredible band from the UK, Two Spot Gobi to the air. In this rare radio interview we will have the chance to find out how this up and coming group has become so popular in such a short time.
Two Spot Gobi's unique and alternative blend of organic pop was born in 2005 in Brighton.  Their unique line up featuring cello and trumpet alongside drums, bass, guitar and singer James' acrobatic vocals makes a refreshingly new sound with a laid back coastal groove.  This is intelligent urban sass for the chilled out surf generation with an infectious live show.
Two Spot Gobi have toured relentlessly in the UK and internationally and have built up a loyal fanbase both at home and abroad. They released their debut single Sunshine Lady in June 2008 and subsequently travelled to the US to perform a series of intimate East Coast Shows.  This brought them to the attention of platinum selling and Grammy award-winning artist Jason Mraz (through a remarkable set of coincidences he had previously discovered TSG at a show in the UK in early 2006) who invited them to tour with him in the US, including at his biggest ever headline show at that point at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA.
By 2009, Two Spot Gobi released their debut album Everywhere You Should Have Been, and in support of this they toured Portugal and the UK with Mraz, while headlining their own shows in the UK.  They have also supported artists such as Newton Faulkner, performed at the first annual Leeza Gibbons Oscar Night After Party at the iconic Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, and played the festival circuit including the GoldCoast Ocean Festival, Volksfest, Maker Festival, Bloom Fest and CMJ in New York.
In late summer 2009 they travelled to Jason Mraz's San Diego home studio to record for several months with Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Sting, My Morning Jacket). After building enthusiastic and loyal support on the West Coast following a handful of California shows, they returned with their second studio album The Sun Will Rise, set for release in late 2010.

Two Spot Gobi's sunshine sound is perfect for the summer as the band releases their new single You Make It Easy this coming June 14th on IRL-MusiK1. The single highlights irresistibly acoustic and upbeat vibes that garner a myriad of eclectic influences from alternative rock, blues, jazz and ska, drawing comparisons with The Police, Jack Johnson, Elbow, Nick Drake and the energy of Jamiroquai.
