Making Your Life Better!

What Exactly is Coaching?

One of the first questions I am often asked about coaching is "What exactly IS coaching?" The answer is really quite simple. Everyone, at some point in their lives, has been involved in a coaching relationship, perhaps without even realizing it. As children our parents coach us, to walk, to talk, to tie our shoes, ride a bike, swing a bat, throw a ball, learn that 2 + 2 equals 4, and so on. As we continue to grow, many people help us in a coaching-like style. Simply put, coaching is a relationship between two individuals where one assumes the position of a guide; the other receives their guidance.

Coaches help others:

•    By helping Make Your Life Better!
•    Become clear about their goals
•    Recognize their unique strengths, capabilities and passions
•    Establish actions steps that take them to their goal
•    Help them identify possible roadblocks, conflicts and negative patterns that may hold them back
•    Set reasonable timelines for accomplishing their action steps
•    Offer support along each step of the way
•    Celebrate in your victory and success

Is Coaching for Me?

All of us, at one time or another in our lives, would most likely benefit from the help of working alongside a coach to achieve clarity, focus and reach our goals. The coaching process can be a powerful tool to help with:

•    Professional goals
•    Relationship issues
•    Health and Wellness issues
•    Spiritual or Religious concerns
•    Life Purpose
•    Creative Expression
•    Time management
•    Post Relationship distress
•    Family Relationships
•    Any goal you can think of!

The best way to determine if coaching is the right path for you and your goals is to give me a call. Usually, after a short conversation, we can identify just how the coaching process may, in fact, be a great step in helping you reach your goal.

The coaching process usually entails a get-to-know-you phone conversation. This helps establish that a) coaching would benefit you, and b) makes sure we are the right fit for one another. Once this is completed, the Initial Coaching Consultation takes place (this takes anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 hours and can be done in person, via phone or Skype!). A week later, we will have another session, this time meeting for approximately 1 hour. As a part of our second session we will work to set up a 30 day action plan, aimed at moving you closer to your goal. For the next month, two short phone sessions will help support you in completing this 30 day action plan. Any adjustments to the 30 day plan can be made along the way as need be. Future coaching sessions, specific to your original goal, can be made. It is possible to continue working closely together, varying by individual, until your goal is achieved.

How Much Does Coaching Cost?

There are many variables to determining the cost of working one on one with a professional coach. It is normal to expect that you and your coach discuss your needs, your goals and together create a custom coaching plan that is perfect for you. Most people find the cost of working with a professional coach quite reasonable for the value that is gained from the experience. Skills, tools and self confidence, not to mention achieving your goals is worth the investment in yourself and your future.
