Got me thinking

May 11, 2012

My interview yesterday with feminist and activist Gloria Feldt (former CEO and head of Planned Parenthood) got me thinking. What is it, or perhaps a better query is WHY is it that so many of us hold such back seat energy to such important issues? I found, during my preparing for my interview with Gloria, myself feeling outraged by many of the dismal statistics about women and power. Today, as I reviewed my emails and browsed through the news once again I found myself shaking my head and pondering why the hell are so many of us sitting by, doing nothing, when so much that is taking place in the world is just plain WRONG?
How is it that we can bypass overt cruetly, to anyone, or anything? How is it that we tolerate such criminal behavior by our elected politicians, and corporate powerhouses? What is the almighty power that seems to crush, at times instantly, anyone or any group that dares to rise up in protest?
Life, at times, seems like a cruel joke. So much beauty and potential happiness for so many and yet so much despair, hardship and struggle, too often being the norm in damn near every household.
So I ask, YOU. What holds you back from protesting, in any way, in some way, those things that you have come to realize are wrong, unjust and illegally bestowed upon us. Are we all really that afraid?

Chronic stress, including un-cleared traumas, not only increases stress hormones, but has also been shown to accelerate the growth of precancerous cells and tumors, and to lower our body’s resistance to bacteria, viruses, diverse illnesses, as well as anxiety and depressio...

Destiny versus Choice

“You can’t avoid it, it’s written in the stars.” “Life is what you make it.” Since the day we are born, we are bombarded with contradictory claims that our lives are pre-destined, that Fate deals us the cards we must play OR that our lives are the results of our choices, and that we make it up as we go along.         “Destiny vs. Choice” examines the philosophical, spiritual and scientific evidence for both claims, and how we can live better, more fulfilling lives no matter which si...
